Under 9s

U9 teams consist of boys and girls, comprise 2 x 20 minute halves and are played with a size 3 ball. Matches are refereed by coaches, assistant coaches, parents, or older players who are part of the "budding referees" programs run by various Bayside clubs. Results are not recorded on any ladder.

Our U9s play in leagues administered by the FFV (Football Federation Victoria).

Matches take place on smaller-than-usual pitches, and are played according to the FFV's Rooball rules, which can be dowloaded from the FFV's Rules and Regulations page.

Each pre-season we go through the process of formulating our teams at various age groups. U9 players have very often come through our GoalKick program from the previous season, or have graduated from our U8 teams. But we also typically welcome many new players to the club at this age level.
