If you've clicked through to here you're obviously interested
in the history of the Club...
We know a fair bit about the recent history of the club, for
example we can tell you that we are currently the biggest junior soccer
club in Victoria. The growth of BSC in recent times has been nothing
short of astounding:
- In 1996 we had just 8 teams with 146 players.
- In 2000 we had 24 teams with 400 players.
- In 2001 we had 30 teams with 550 players, ranging in age from
6 years to 18 years with boys' and girls' teams.
- In 2002 we had 34 teams and over 675 players.
- And in 2003 we had 50 teams and over 840 players.
Maybe YOU can help US to fill out the history a bit more. We do have a
timeline of the major milestones in the
history of the club, but we're looking for someone to expand that work into
a fully-fledged History of Brighton Soccer Club, firstly in brief so
that when the next person clicks through on this story they're not disappointed;
but then also in a little more detail, so we can preserve the Club's long and
illustrious heritage.
We have information, and what we need now is someone to collect
it and write it up. It would make an excellent school project,
for instance, or for someone with a little time on their hands
- perhaps a way of putting something back into a Club you remember
with fondness from your own playing days, perhaps now long gone?!
So please click on the link below to see a document that lists many of
the Club's key dates. So, if you're perhaps a parent of a current player
at the Club, or even an ex-player yourself, and you can help, then we'd
love to hear from you. To get in touch, email us by clicking on the
Contact us link at left.
(If it helps, we'd be happy to credit you with your contribution
to the Club's volunteer work in exchange for spending some time
on this project.)
