From December 21, 2002 new privacy laws have been introduced that protect the privacy of an individual's personal information and the way private sector businesses and organisations handle personal information.
The aim of the new laws is to ensure that private organisations handle information responsibly and provide a consistent national approach to control the collection, use and disclosure of the personal information. Under the law, individuals have new rights such as access to their information.
Brighton Soccer Club (BSC) recognises and supports a persons right to privacy in relation to their information and the BSC will handle such information in accordance with our legal requirements.
Privacy Notice:
Brighton Soccer Club (BSC) is committed to abiding by the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended) and its principles. BSC will honour its obligations relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.
BSC will only collect personal information where it is necessary to enable us to provide our services in running and managing our various teams and coaching courses, and for the purpose of communication of information (for example payment reminders) to club members.
BSC will not disclose personal information to third parties except under limited circumstances. For example, the distribution of printed club newsletters or mailouts from our approved kit supplier may be handled by a mail distribution organisation. Such an arrangement limits the mail house to distributing the information on behalf of BSC. In other circumstances, if an external agency wishes to promote a product/service via BSC's registered players, and BSC agrees to a written request from the organisation, information may be sent out from BSC on behalf of the organisation.
BSC will take the necessary steps to ensure that any third party the club has an association with also complies with the new Privacy Laws.
BSC also takes reasonable steps to ensure that whenever we collect, use or disclose personal information it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
