Junior Girls U12 - U18

Football Victoria requires players to play in the correct age group. Player age is determined as at 1st January of the current season, this may not correspond with the players school year level. Football Victoria allow players to play up an age group, but do not as a general rule allow players to play down an age group, however a dispensation process is available in extenuating circumstances.

Football Victoria allows Girls U12, U13 and U14 to play in the Boys competition, U16 and above requires approval by Football Victoria’s dispensation process. Boys of any age are not permitted to play in the Girls competition.

Brighton Soccer Club has recruited a professional Goal Keeper Coach to continue supporting our program in 2026.

• Under 12 are graded into Kangaroos, Wallabies and Joeys.
• Under 13 are graded into A’s, B’s etc.
• Games are graded competitions for points in a 9 v 9 format.
• Match days are Sundays.
• Home games are at Dendy Park usually kick off is 9am or 10am.  Away games kick off at a time determined by the opposition.
• Games are 60 minutes duration (30 mins each way), played on 1/2 of a full size pitch with Goal Keepers and using size 4 balls.
• An hour skills training is undertaken each week with A’s, B’s, Kangaroos and Wallabies teams training twice a week (day and time of training to be determined by the team coach). Training is compulsory.
• Club team shirts are provided. Shorts and socks are required to be purchased, these can be purchased from the Club online store.
• All players must wear shin guards.
• The Club playing uniform – team shirt, shorts and socks are required to be worn for all games.

• Games are graded competitions for points in a 11 v 11 format.
• Match days are Sundays.
• Home games are at Dendy Park kick off times will vary by age group with younger players kicking off earlier in the day.  Away games kick off at a time determined by the opposition.
• U14 Games are 60 minutes duration (30 mins each way), played on a full size pitch using size 5 balls.
• U15 Games are 70 minutes duration (35 mins each way), played on a full size pitch using size 5 balls.
• U16 & U17 Games are 80 minutes duration (40 mins each way), played on a full size pitch using size 5 balls.
• U18 Games are 90 minutes duration (45 mins each way), played on a full size pitch using size 5 balls.

The Club has a vision that playing for the Senior Women’s State League team is the aim for all female players of the Club. We will provide opportunities to transition from Junior player to the Senior program with combined training and opportunities to play up. The Women and Girls coaching team will work with players with a focus on development from an early age and subscribe to playing at your “best level and recognising skill sets and the social aspects of female football”

The pathways for Junior Players will focus on developing a lifelong love of the game, inclusion and engagement our club. If you are interested, eligible, and capable at that level, then the opportunity will be offered!
